In order to conduct yearly preventative maintenance, Suzano, one of the world’s largest pulp and paper manufacturers, required a temporary rental power package to maintain operations during shutdown. With maintenance scheduled for 15 days, the Suzano mill, producing over 50% of the company’s total pulp and paper products, could have faced potential losses of up to USD 35.5 million worth of revenue.
Having encountered equipment breakdowns from previous suppliers, Suzano needed to ensure that the new supplier could deliver a reliable and faultless power package to meet their needs.
Turn-key 8 MW generator power package
Aggreko was contracted to supply 8 MW of constant power to sustain factory production. The package, which was delivered, installed and commissioned within five days, met all QHSE requirements and deadlines. Supplying a tailored turn-key package for Suzano’s needs, Aggreko provided engineering, design, installation, operations, maintenance and fuel management. The reliable power supply helped Suzano to meet their production targets, ensuring they maximised their manufacturing capacity and avoided potential losses.
Aggreko ISO accreditation
By highlighting its ISO accreditation and highly standardised QHSE policies, Aggreko was able to illustrate the reliability of its equipment and staff. With a network of 144 locations worldwide supporting the world’s largest rental fleet of generators, Aggreko was able to offer Suzano the flexibility to tailor their power package to the exact amount of power required.
"The speed in which Aggreko installed their generators was very quick. Throughout the project, Aggreko remained in control of the situation and the end result was very positive. Meeting our tight deadlines, they were able to supply us with high quality, reliable equipment and very responsive staff." [Mr. Joao Carlos de Oliveira, Maintenance Planner, Suzano Papel e Celulose]
